Ministry Signs three Memorandum of Understandings to promote the wellbeing of children living in shelters and senior citizens

Ministry of Gender and Family has today signed three Memorandum of Understandings to promote the wellbeing of children living in shelters and senior citizens as follows:

  • Best Buy Maldives has sponsored one additional teacher to work for a period of one year at Fiyavathi shelter
  • Stars Sports Club will conduct basketball lessons for a period of six months for all children above 6 years residing in Fiyavathi shelter.
  • Aged Care Maldives will conduct special activities for the protection and wellbeing of senior citizens with an emphasis on increasing their participation in the community and creating awareness

The Ministry wishes to thank Best Buy Maldives, Stars Sports Club and Aged Care Maldives for partnering with the Ministry to enhance the lives of children living in shelters and to promote the rights of senior citizens. The Ministry hopes to expand collaboration with government organizations, private sector and civil society to provide children and elderly with more opportunities.
