Ministry of Gender and Family has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today with three companies to provide children under state care with better care and support for their growth and development. With the increase in babies and toddlers being taken into state care, the Ministry has partnered with Maldives Airports Company Limited, Maldives Inflight Catering Services and Hotels & Resort Construction Pvt Ltd to sponsor support staff to work with children living in Fiyavathi shelter as follows:
- Maldives Airports Company Limited has sponsored two additional care workers to work for a period of one year.
- Maldives Inflight Catering has sponsored one additional care worker to work for a period of one year.
- Hotels and Resort Construction Pvt Ltd has sponsored a nurse for a period of one year.
The Ministry wishes to thank Maldives Airport Company Limited, Maldives Inflight Catering and Hotels and Resort Construction Private Limited for partnering with the Ministry to enhance the lives of children living in shelters. The Ministry hopes to expand collaboration with government organizations, private sector and civil society to provide children with more opportunities for their development and wellbeing.
