Minister of Gender and Family H. E. Zenysha Shaheed Zaki celebrated the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr by organizing a special screening of the movie “Cars 3” at Schwak Cinema for children aged 5-10 years children living in Fiyavathi shelter in Hulhumale’.
A total of 71 children from the shelter, accompanied by staff at the Ministry and Fiyavathi participated in the event held in Male’ this morning.
The Ministry expresses sincere appreciation to Schwack Cinema for organising the special event for two consecutive years. The Ministry would also like to thank the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and Maldives Transport & Contracting Company (MTCC) for facilitating transport arrangements for the event.
On the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr, the Ministry has also planned additional activities for the children living in Fiyavathi including viewing the Hot Air Balloon Festival scheduled to be held in Hulhumale’ this evening, as well as taking part in a special children’s evening held by Club Med Kanifinolhu Resort. Separate activities have also been planned for the children at Kudakudhinge Hiya in VilliMale’, during the Eid holidays.
The Ministry currently provides shelter to a total of 166 children placed at Kudakudhinge Hiya, Amaan Hiya and Fiyavathi Shelter.
