The Maldives Airports Company Pvt. Ltd. (MACL) has established a library for the children living in Fiyavathi, under their Corporate Social Responsibility. The library was inaugurated today, by the Minister of Gender and Family H.E. Zenysha Shaheed Zaki and the Managing Director of MACL, Mr. Adil Moosa.
Speaking at the inauguration event, Minister Zenysha highlighted the importance of providing children under state care with equal opportunities for their development and wellbeing. She also noted that the library will serve an important role in improving educational standards and creating an interest for reading among the children living in Fiyavathi. She further expressed sincere appreciation to MACL for their generous contribution.
The Ministry hopes to expand collaboration with government organizations, private sector and civil society to provide children under State care with similar opportunities. Fiyavathi was established in February 2016 and currently houses 100 children below 10 years.
