Minister of Gender and Family, Ms. Zenysha Shaheed Zaki, has visited State Institutions for children & elderly in Malaysia during her visit to Kuala Lumpur. The Institutions included a shelter for children who require protection, a correctional facility for juvenile offenders, an elderly care facility as well as an activity centre for senior citizen.
During the visit, Minister Zenysha met with the management and staff of the institutions, to learn about best practices in the region and acquire a better understanding of various programmes and activities for those who reside in the shelter.
Minister Zenysha was in Malaysia to attend the Asia Pacific Ministerial Forum of the Management of Social Transformation (MOST) hosted by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development Malaysia in collaboration with UNESCO.
