Ministry Signs Memorandum of Understandings with two companies to provide children living in shelters with more opportunities for their development and wellbeing

Ministry of Gender and Family has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with two companies to provide children under state care with better care and support for their growth and development. With the increase in babies and toddlers being taken into state care, the Ministry has partnered with State Trading Organization (STO) and Ooredoo Maldives to sponsor support staff to work with children living in Fiyavathi shelter as follows:

  • STO has sponsored two additional teachers to work for a period of one year.
  • Ooredoo Maldives has sponsored one additional care worker to work for a period of one year.

The Ministry wishes to thank STO and Ooredoo Maldives for partnering with the Ministry to enhance the lives of children living in shelters. The Ministry hopes to expand collaboration with government organizations, private sector and civil society to provide children with more opportunities for their development and wellbeing.
