Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services received and attended to a total of 263 cases in November 2020.
Violence against Children:
- A total of 151 cases were reported to and attended regarding violence against children in November 2020.
- The most frequently reported cases in this category involve cases of negligence, of which 56 cases were reported during this period.
- Other forms of violence against children include 43 cases of sexual abuse, 32 cases of physical abuse, 5 cases of emotional abuse, 1 case of exploitation, 2 cases of victims of cyber bullying, 1 case of victims of bullying and harassment and 10 cases of witness to domestic violence.
Behavioral problems:
- A total of 11 cases were reported to and attended regarding behavioral problems of children in November 2020.
- Reports include 3 cases of refusal to attend school and 3 cases of running away.
Care and support for elderly and persons with disabilities:
- A total of 18 cases were reported to and attended in this category in November 2020.
- Reports include 9 cases of care support for persons with disabilities and 9 cases of care and support to the elderly.
Child rights violations:
- A total of 7 cases were reported to and attended in this category in November 2020.
- Reports include 1 case of refusal for access to education, 4 cases of denial of birth registration and 2 cases of refusal of access to healthcare/ medical.
Children in conflict with the law:
- A total of 15 cases of this category were reported to and attended in November 2020.
- Reports include 1 case of physical assault/ aggression and 1 case of theft.
Family Issues:
- A total of 19cases were reported to and attended in this category in November 2020.
- Reports include 06 cases of parenting issues, 09 cases of custody or access and 04 cases of child maintenance.
Gender based violence and Domestic violence:
- A total of 34 cases involving gender-based violence and domestic violence were reported to and attended in November 2020.
- The most frequently reported cases involve 15 cases of physical abuse.
- Other cases reported in this category involve 3 cases of rape, 4 cases of intimidation, 10 cases of emotional abuse and 2 cases of negligence.
Self-harm and Suicidal behavior:
- 8 cases regarding self-harm and suicidal behavior were reported to and attended in November 2020.
Children under State care, Fostered and Reintegrated:
- A total of 04 children were taken to State in November 2020.
- There are total of 210 Children under State Care as of November 2020.
