Violence against children
- A total of 105 cases were reported to and attended regarding violence against children, which amounts to 49 percent of the total cases received and attended in February 2019.
- The most frequently reported cases in this category involve cases of negligence, of which 32 cases were reported during this period.
- Other forms of violence against children include 26 cases of physical abuse, 22 cases of sexual abuse, 8 cases of victims of bullying and harassment, 5 cases of emotional abuse, 5 cases of witness to domestic violence, 3 cases of victims of cyber bullying, 2 cases of commercial exploitation, 1 case of commercial sexual exploitation and 1 case of exploitation.
Child rights violations
- 1 case of refusal of access to education was reported to and attended regarding child rights violations in February 2019.
Family issues
- A total of 26 cases were reported to and attended in this category in February 2019.
- Reports include 12 cases of custody or access, 9 cases of parenting issues and 2 cases of child maintenance.
Children in conflict with the law
- A total of 6 cases were reported to and attended in this category in February 2019.
- Reports include 5 cases of vandalism and damage to property and 1 case of theft.
Behavioural problems of children
- A total of 15 cases were reported to and attended regarding behavioural problems of children in February 2019.
- Reports include 4 cases of running away, 3 cases of refusal to attend school and 1 case of perpetrator of bullying and harassment.
Gender based violence and domestic violence
- A total of 25 cases involving gender based violence and domestic violence were reported to and attended in February 2019.
- The most frequently reported cases involve forms of physical abuse, of which 12 cases were reported during this period.
- Other cases reported in this category involve 7 cases of emotional or verbal abuse, 2 cases of intimidation, 1 case of negligence, 1 case of sexual abuse, 1 case of sexual harassment and 1 case of controlling behaviour.
Care and support for elderly and persons with disabilities
- A total of 30 cases were reported to and attended in this category in February 2019.
- Reports include 16 cases related to care and support for elderly and 14 cases regarding care and support to persons with disabilities.
Suicidal behavior/ thoughts
- 5 cases regarding self-harm and suicidal behavior were reported to and attended in February 2019.
