A total of 59 children from Kudakudhinge Hiya between the ages 10 to 18 years have participated in the “Leadership Camp” organised by Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) last weekend. Minister of Gender and Family Zenysha Shaheed Zaki, officials of MNDF and staff of the Ministry and Kudakudhinge Hiya participated at the closing ceremony of the Camp, held at Girifushi Training Centre.
Speaking at the event, Minister Zenysha expressed hope that the leadership camp helped develop and enhance skills and capabilities of the children and that they would make full use of the knowledge and skills acquired at this camp. Minister Zenysha also thanked MNDF for the collaboration and partnership with the Ministry to provide leaning opportunities and capacity building experiences for children under State Care.
During the 2-day camp, the children participated in fun and educational games and activities that promoted respect and responsibility, and focused on building leadership skills, self-confidence, team work and life skills.
