Ministry of Gender and Family has opened the opportunity to apply for Rehendhi Award 2017. This year’s award consists of 5 main categories which include;
- Participation and contribution of women in political and public life
- Participation and contribution of women in economic sector
- Participation and contribution of women in social sector
- Contributions towards prevention and protection of Violence Against Women
- Offices/Institutions/Companies working on gender mainstreaming and promote women to leadership positions
Interested candidates can either be self-nominated or nominated by another person, institution or civil society organization. The deadline for application is 2 January 2017 before 2pm. Ministry of Gender and Family has conferred Rehendhi Award since 2014, to recognize the contributions and services of women towards self-development and development of the community and the nation. 14 women has received this award to date.
