Child Abuse Prevention sessions held in all islands of Meemu atoll

Awareness sessions on empowering children against abuse have been conducted by the Ministry of Gender and Family in all islands of Meemu atoll. The programme was carried out this August in collaboration with the Maldives Police Service.

Over 360 students of grade 4 – 6 participated in the sessions held in the 8 islands of Meemu Atoll- Muli, Mulah, Dhiggaru, Kolhufushi, Naalaafushi, Veyvah, Raimandhoo and Maduvvari.

Minister Zenysha Shaheed Zaki attended the awareness sessions held at M.Mulah School, during her visit to Meemu Atoll last week. She also met with the children who took part in the sessions and provided them with the opportunity to share their feedback and experiences. The Ministry thanks Maldives Police Service for their collaboration and support in conducting the sessions.
