Minister Zenysha undertakes an official visit to Meemu Atoll Mulah

Minister of Gender and Family Hon. Zenysha Shaheed Zaki has undertaken an official visit Meemu Atoll Mulah, visiting the Family and Children Service Centre established in Mulah.  During her visit, Minister Zenysha met with staff of centre and discussed ways of strengthening the services provided by the centre.

During the visit, Minister Zenysha also held meetings with the senior officials of Mulah Council, Police, Health Centre, Mulah School and the Women’s Development Committee and shared information on the work undertaken by the Ministry. During the meetings, she highlighted areas for collaboration between the relevant agencies and the Ministry and emphasized the importance of cooperation of all stakeholders to promote social protection.

Minister Zenysha also attended the awareness sessions on empowering children against abuse, being held at Mulah School, during the visit. The sessions are part of an awareness activity conducted across all islands of Meemu Atoll from 6-10 August 2015, by the Ministry of Gender and Family in partnership with Meemu Atoll Police. Minister Zenysha also met with the children who took part in today’s sessions and provided them with the opportunity to share their feedback and experiences.

Minister Zenysha concluded her visit to Mulah today and returned to Male’ this evening.
