Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services received and attended to a total of 287 cases in September 2021.
Violence against Children:
- A total of 127 cases were reported to and attended regarding violence against children in September 2021.
- The most frequently reported cases in this category involve cases of neglect, of which 40 cases were reported during this period.
- Other forms of violence against children include 29 cases of physical abuse, 25 case of sexual abuse, 12 case of witness to domestic violence, 10 cases of emotional abuse, 8 cases of exploitation, 2 cases of victims of harassment and 1 case of abandonment.
Gender based violence and Domestic violence:
- A total of 64 cases involving gender-based violence and domestic violence were reported to and attended in September 2021.
- The most frequently reported cases involve 27 cases of physical violence / abuse.
- Other cases reported in this category involve 16 cases of emotional abuse/verbal abuse, 8 cases of sexual harassment, 7 cases of intimidating, 4 cases of sexual violence / abuse, 1 case of withholding / damage to property and 1 case of controlling behavior.
Family Issues:
- A total of 36 cases were reported to and attended in this category in September 2021.
- Reports include 18 cases of parenting issues, 16 cases of custody or access, and 2 cases of Maintenance.
Care and support for elderly and persons with disabilities:
- A total of 18 cases were reported to and attended in this category in September 2021.
- Reports include 16 cases of care support for persons with disabilities and 2 cases of care and support to the elderly.
Behavioral problems:
- A total of 16 cases were reported to and attended regarding behavioral problems in September 2021.
- Reports include 7 cases of refusal to attend school, 4 cases of perpetrators of bullying, 3 cases of running away and 2 cases of temper tantrums.
Self-harm and Suicidal behavior:
- 15 cases regarding self-harm and suicidal behavior were reported to and attended in September 2021.
- Report include 8 cases of self-harming 4 cases of suicidal behavior and 3 cases of suicidal thoughts.
Child rights violations:
- A total of 6 cases were reported to and attended in this category in September 2021.
- Reports include 2 cases of refusal to send children to school, 2 case of violation of right to safe Drinking Water/Electricity and 1 case of birth registration.
Children in conflict with law:
- A total of 5 case was reported to and attended in this category in September 2021.
- Reports include 1 case of stealing and 4 cases of others.
Children under State care, Fostered and Reintegrated:
- 05 children were reintegrated with families, 1 child was placed with foster family and 1 child were reintegrated to society with a job.
- There are a total of 206 Children under State care as of September 2021.
