Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services received and attended to a total of 258 cases in January 2021.
Violence against Children:
- A total of 124 cases were reported to and attended regarding violence against children in January 2021.
- The most frequently reported cases in this category involve cases of sexual abuse, of which 42 cases were reported during this period.
- Other forms of violence against children include 15 cases of physical abuse, 4 cases of emotional abuse, 46 cases of negligence, 2 cases of victims of cyber bullying, 5 cases of victims of bullying and harassment and 10 cases of witness to domestic violence.
Behavioral problems:
- A total of 18 cases were reported to and attended regarding behavioral problems in January 2021.
- Reports include 5 case of running away and 5 cases of refusal to attend school.
Care and support for elderly and persons with disabilities:
- A total of 23 cases were reported to and attended in this category in January 2021.
- Reports include 16 cases of care support for persons with disabilities and 7 cases of care and support to the elderly.
Child rights violations:
- A total of 9 cases were reported to and attended in this category in January 2021.
- Reports include 5 cases of denial of birth registration, 2 case of refusal of access to education and 2 cases of acquiring NID card/ passport/ Birth Certificate.
Children in conflict with the law:
- A total of 7 cases of this category were reported to and attended in January 2021.
Family Issues:
- A total of 21 cases were reported to and attended in this category in January 2021.
- Reports include 5 cases of parenting issues, 12 cases of custody or access and 4 cases of child maintenance.
Gender based violence and Domestic violence:
- A total of 47 cases involving gender-based violence and domestic violence were reported to and attended in January 2021.
- The most frequently reported cases involve 19 cases of emotional abuse.
- Other cases reported in this category involve 13 cases of physical abuse, 3 cases of rape, 3 cases of sexual abuse, 1 case of negligence, 1 case of sexual harassment, 2 cases of economic and financial abuse and 5 cases of intimidation.
Self-harm and Suicidal behavior:
- 9 cases regarding self-harm and suicidal behavior were reported to and attended in January 2021.
Children under State care, Fostered and Reintegrated:
- A total of 4 children were taken to State Care and 1 child was placed with a foster family in January 2021.
- There are total of 222 Children under State Care as of January 2021.
