Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services in collaboration with Family Protection Authority (FPA) conducted a virtual training programme this morning for Family and Children Service Centers (FCSCs) under “Geveshi Gulhun” campaign.
A total of 33 participants from 18 FCSCs participated in this two-day training programme, which was inaugurated by Minister Ms. Aishath Mohamed Didi. The objective of the programme is to raise awareness on preventive measures to eliminate domestic violence and to equip staff with the technical knowledge to initiate such programmes in the atolls.
Addressing the participants, Minister Aishath said it is important to educate and create awareness starting from students to older persons, if we wish to eliminate domestic violence within the society. And in order to achieveit, she emphasised on utilisinginnovative strategies and the importance of engaging public in efforts carried out by FCSCs in conducting campaign activities.
