Ministry signs a Memorandum of Understanding with Kurumba Maldives to provide internship opportunities for children from Kudakudhinge Hiya

Ministry of Gender and Family has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kurumba Maldives to provide internship opportunities for children living in Kudakudhinge Hiya, under State Care.

At a special ceremony held at the Ministry, General Manager Mr. Ryszard Majewski signed the MoU on behalf of Kurumba Maldives and Deputy Minister, Ms. Leesha Mohamed signed the MoU on behalf of the Ministry.

Through this MoU, a minimum of two children above the age of 16 from Kudakudhinge Hiya will be provided the opportunity every year to participate in the internship programme and work at different departments of Kurumba Maldives for a duration of one year.

The completion of this internship programme will facilitate employment opportunities at Kurumba Maldives and other similar companies, for children who wish to pursue a career in the field of hospitality and tourism, based on their skills and capabilities.

The Ministry has signed similar MoUs with Condrad Maldives Rangali Island and Anantara Maldives and through this partnership, two children from Kudakudinge Hiya are currently working as interns in these resorts.
