Violence against children
- A total of 117 cases were reported to and attended regarding violence against children, which amounts to 56 percent of the total cases received and attended in February 2018.
- The most frequently reported cases in this category involve sexual abuse. A total of 44 cases were reported in this category.
- Other forms of violence against children include 30 cases of physical abuse, 18 cases of neglect, 9 cases of emotional abuse, 5 cases of cyber bullying, 5 cases of bullying and harassment, 3 cases of child abandonment and 3 cases of witness to domestic violence.
Children in conflict with the law
- A total of 13 cases were reported to and attended regarding children in conflict with the law in February 2018, which included 5 cases of physical assault or aggression, 1 case of theft, 1 case of drug use and 1 case of drug dealing.
Behavioral problems of children
- A total of 17 cases were reported to and attended regarding behavioural problems of children in February 2018.
- Reports include 6 cases of temper tantrums, 6 cases of refusal to attend school and 5 cases of running away.
Child rights violations
- 1 case of refusal for access to education was reported to and attended regarding child rights violations in February 2018.
Family issues
- A total of 29 cases were reported to and attended in this category in February 2018.
- Reports include 12 cases of parenting issues, 10 cases of custody or access and 6 cases of child maintenance.
Gender based violence and domestic violence
- A total of 20 cases involving gender based violence and domestic violence were reported to and attended in February 2018, which amounts to 5 percent of the total cases.
- The most frequently reported cases involve forms of physical abuse, of which 6 cases were reported during this period.
- Other cases reported in this category involve 5 cases of emotional or verbal abuse, 3 cases of intimidation, 2 cases of economic & financial abuse, 2 cases of rape, 1 case of sexual abuse and 1 case of neglect.
Care and support for elderly and persons with disabilities
- A total of 12 cases were reported to and attended in this category in February 2018.
- Reports include 8 cases regarding care and support to persons with disabilities and 4 cases regarding care and support for elderly.
Suicidal behavior / thoughts
- 1 case of suicidal thoughts was reported to and attended in February 2018.
