Ministry of Gender and Family has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Maldives Autism Association and Beautiful Eyes Down Syndrome Association, to establish a partnership to conduct programmes targeted for persons with disabilities.
At a special ceremony held this morning at the Ministry, Deputy Minister, Ms. Leesha Mohamed signed the MOUs on behalf of the Ministry. On behalf of Maldives Autism Association, Director Ifham Hussain signed the MoU while Chairperson Aishath Shifa signed the MoU from Beautiful Eyes Down Syndrome Association.
The MoUs were signed for a duration of one year, with the purpose of conducting various activities for children and persons with disabilities throughout Male’ and atolls, to enhance community awareness efforts and capacity building trainings.
The Ministry wishes to thank both organizations for their partnership to strengthen social protection efforts in the Maldives. The Ministry also hopes to expand collaboration with civil society and private sector in the future.
