Cases Reported to and Attended by the Ministry in March 2022

Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services received and attended to a total of 266 cases in March 2022.

Violence against Children:

  • A total of 126 cases were reported to and attended regarding violence against children in March 2022.
  • The most frequently reported cases in this category involve cases of sexual abuse, of which 40 cases were reported during this period.
  • Other cases reported in this category involve, 27 cases of physical abuse, 26 cases of neglect, 20 cases of emotional abuse, 4 cases of witness to domestic violence, 3 cases of exploitation, 3 cases of commercial exploitation/ child labor and 3 cases of victims of bullying and harassment.

Gender based violence and Domestic violence:

  • A total of 31 cases involving gender-based violence and domestic violence were reported to and attended in March 2022.
  • The most frequently reported cases involve 11 cases of physical violence/ abuse.
  • Other cases reported in this category involve 10 cases of emotional abuse/ verbal abuse, 4 case of sexual violence/ abuse, 4 cases of neglect, 1 case of sexual harassment and 1 case of intimidating.

Family Issues:

  • A total of 39 cases were reported to and attended in this category in March 2022.
  • Reports include 21 cases of parenting issues, 16 cases of custody access and 2 cases of maintenance.

Care and support for elderly and persons with disabilities:

  • A total of 28 cases were reported to and attended in this category in March 2022.
  • Reports include 22 cases of care and support for persons with disabilities and 6 cases of care and support to the elderly.

Child rights violations:

  • A total of 6 case was reported to and attended in this category in March 2022.
  • Reports include 2 cases of acquiring NID card/ passport/ birth certificate, 1 case of birth registration, 1 case of refusal to vaccinate children, 1 case of refusal to access to education and 1 case of refusal to send children to school.

Behavioral problems:

  • A total of 9 cases were reported to and attended regarding behavioral problems in March 2022.
  • Reports include 7 cases of temper tantrums, 2 cases of refusal to attend school.

Self-harm and Suicidal behavior:

  • A total of 23 cases regarding self-harm and suicidal behavior were reported to and attended in March 2022.

Children in conflict with law:

  • A total of 4 cases was reported to and attended in this category in March 2022.
  • Reports include 1 case of physical assault.

Children under State care, Fostered and Reintegrated:

  • There are a total of 200 children under state care as of March 2022.
  • 12 child was taken into state care, 1 child was reintegrated with family, and 4 children were fostered.
