Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services received and attended to a total of 235 cases in February 2022.
Violence against Children:
- A total of 106 cases were reported to and attended regarding violence against children in February
- The most frequently reported cases in this category involve cases of neglect, of which 28 cases were reported during this period.
- Other cases reported in this category involve, 23 cases of witness to demotic violence, 23 cases of sexual abuse, 16 cases of physical abuse, 6 cases of emotional abuse, 5 case of victims of bullying harassment, 4 cases of victim of exploitation and 1 case of victims of cyber bullying.
Gender based violence and Domestic violence:
- A total of 58 cases involving gender-based violence and domestic violence were reported to and attended in February 2022.
- The most frequently reported cases involve 25 cases of physical violence/ abuse.
- Other cases reported in this category involve 24 cases of emotional abuse/ verbal abuse, 04 cases of Economic and financial abuse, 2 cases of intimidating, 1 case of sexual violence/ abuse, 1 case of stalking and 1 case of neglect.
Family Issues:
- A total of 26 cases were reported to and attended in this category in February 2022.
- Reports include 14 cases of parenting issues, 9 cases of custody access and 3 cases of maintenance.
Care and support for elderly and persons with disabilities:
- A total of 16 cases were reported to and attended in this category in February 2022.
- Reports include 13 cases of care support for persons with disabilities and 3 cases of care and support to the elderly.
Child rights violations:
- A total of 1 case was reported to and attended in this category in February 2022.
- This is a case of refusal of access to health care/ medical.
Behavioral problems:
- A total of 14 cases were reported to and attended regarding behavioral problems in February 2022.
- Reports include 6 cases of refusal to attend school, 4 cases of running away and 4 cases of temper tantrums.
Self-harm and Suicidal behavior:
- A total of 10 cases regarding self-harm and suicidal behavior were reported to and attended in February 2022.
Children under State care, Fostered and Reintegrated:
- There are a total of 193 children under state care as of February 2022.
- 1 child was reintegrated with family, 1 child was taken into state care and 2 children (turned 18) were reintegrated to the society with a job.
