Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services received and attended to a total of 220 cases in December 2021.
Violence against Children:
- A total of 104 cases were reported to and attended regarding violence against children in December
- The most frequently reported cases in this category involve cases of sexual abuse, of which 27 cases were reported during this period.
- Other forms of violence against children include 23 cases of neglect, 20 cases witness to Domestic violence, 16 cases of physical abuse, 08 cases of emotional abuse, 06 cases of victim of exploitation, 02 cases of victims of bullying, 01 case of victims of cyber bullying, and 01 case of victims of harassment.
Family Issues:
- A total of 24 cases were reported to and attended in this category in December 2021.
- Reports include 10 cases of custody or access, 07 cases of parenting issues and 07 cases of maintenance.
Gender based violence and Domestic violence:
- A total of 48 cases involving gender-based violence and domestic violence were reported to and attended in December 2021.
- The most frequently reported cases involve 24 cases of physical violence / abuse.
- Other cases reported in this category involve 09 cases of emotional abuse/verbal abuse, 06 cases of Intimidating, 03 cases of sexual violence / abuse, 01 case of commercial exploitations, 01 case of Sexual Harassment, 01 case of Economic and financial abuse, 01 case of withholding / Damage to property, 01 case of controlling behavior and 01 case of Rape.
Behavioral problems:
- A total of 12 cases were reported to and attended regarding behavioral problems in December
- Reports include 06 cases of refusal to attend school, 03 cases of temper tantrums and 03 cases of running away.
Self-harm and Suicidal behavior:
- 10 cases regarding self-harm and suicidal behavior were reported to and attended in December 2021.
- Report include 04 cases of suicidal thoughts, 03 cases of suicidal behavior and 03 cases of self-harm.
Care and support for elderly and persons with disabilities:
- A total of 13 cases were reported to and attended in this category in December 2021.
- Reports include 08 cases of care support for persons with disabilities and 05 cases of care and support to the elderly.
Child rights violations:
- A total of 06 cases were reported to and attended in this category in December
- Reports include 03 cases of violation of rights to safe drinking water / electricity, 01 case of NID card / passport / birth certificate, 01 case of refusal to vaccinate children and 01 case of refusal of access to education.
Children in conflict with law:
- A total of 03 case was reported to and attended in this category in December 2021.
- Reports include 03 case of others.
Children under State care, Fostered and Reintegrated:
- There are a total of 208 Children under State care as of December 2021.
- Reports include 01 children taken to state care, 01 Child placed with foster families, 05 children reintegrated with families and 01 child reintegrated to the society with a job.
