Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services received and attended to a total of 184 cases in November 2021.
Violence against Children:
- A total of 84 cases were reported to and attended regarding violence against children in November
- The most frequently reported cases in this category involve cases of sexual abuse, of which 29 cases were reported during this period.
- Other forms of violence against children include 21 case of neglect, 17 cases of physical abuse, 06 cases of emotional abuse, 05 cases of victims of bullying & harassment, 04 case of witness to domestic violence, and 02 cases of exploitation,.
Family Issues:
- A total of 26 cases were reported to and attended in this category in November
- Reports include 19 cases of custody or access and 07 cases of parenting issues.
Gender based violence and Domestic violence:
- A total of 23 cases involving gender-based violence and domestic violence were reported to and attended in November 2021.
- The most frequently reported cases involve 13 cases of physical violence / abuse.
- Other cases reported in this category involve 08 cases of emotional abuse/verbal abuse, 01 cases of sexual violence / abuse, and 01 case of Stalking.
Behavioral problems:
- A total of 17 cases were reported to and attended regarding behavioral problems in November
- Reports include 08 cases of refusal to attend school, 07 cases of temper tantrums and 02 cases of running away.
Self-harm and Suicidal behavior:
- 13 cases regarding self-harm and suicidal behavior were reported to and attended in November
- Report include 11 cases of self-harming, and 02 cases of suicidal thoughts.
Care and support for elderly and persons with disabilities:
- A total of 11 cases were reported to and attended in this category in November 2021.
- Reports include 08 cases of care support for persons with disabilities and 03 cases of care and support to the elderly.
Child rights violations:
- A total of 05 cases were reported to and attended in this category in November
- Reports include 02 cases of refusal to send children to school, 02 case of refusal of access to education and 1 case of access to health care/ medical.
Children in conflict with law:
- A total of 05 case was reported to and attended in this category in November 2021.
- Reports include 04 cases of physical assault/aggression and 01 case of others.
Children under State care, Fostered and Reintegrated:
- There are a total of 208 Children under State care as of November.
