Violence against children
- A total of 111 cases were reported to and attended regarding violence against children, which amounts to 52 percent of the total cases received and attended in May 2019.
- The most frequently reported cases in this category involve cases of sexual abuse and physical abuse, of which 34 cases of sexual abuse and 34 cases of physical abuse were reported during this period.
- Other forms of violence against children include 27 cases of negligence, 10 cases of emotional abuse, 4 cases of victims of cyber bullying and 2 cases of witness to domestic violence.
Child rights violations
- A total of 3 cases were reported to and attended in this category in May 2019.
- Reports include 2 cases of refusal of access to education and 1 case of denial of birth registration.
Family issues
- A total of 21 cases were reported to and attended in this category in May 2019.
- Reports include 16 cases of custody or access, 4 cases of parenting issues and 1 case of child maintenance.
Children in conflict with the law
- A total of 8 cases were reported to and attended in this category in May 2019.
- Reports include 2 cases of drug use and 1 case of disobedience.
Behavioural problems of children
- A total of 10 cases were reported to and attended regarding behavioural problems of children in May 2019.
- Reports include 5 cases of running away and 2 cases of refusal to attend school.
Gender based violence and domestic violence
- A total of 42 cases involving gender based violence and domestic violence were reported to and attended in May 2019.
- The most frequently reported cases involve forms of physical abuse, of which 15 cases were reported during this period.
- Other cases reported in this category involve 8 cases of emotional or verbal abuse, 5 cases of intimidation, 4 cases of negligence, 3 cases of rape, 2 cases of sexual abuse, 2 cases of withholding or damage to property, 2 cases of commercial exploitation and 1 case of controlling behaviour.
Care and support for elderly and persons with disabilities
- A total of 15 cases were reported to and attended in this category in May 2019.
- Reports include 12 cases regarding care and support to persons with disabilities and 3 cases related to care and support for elderly.
Suicidal behaviour/ thoughts
- 2 cases regarding self-harm and suicidal behaviour were reported to and attended in May 2019.
