Violence against children
- A total of 131 cases were reported to and attended regarding violence against children, which amounts to 45 percent of the total cases received and attended in December 2018.
- The most frequently reported cases in this category involve cases of negligence, of which 48 cases were reported during this period.
- Other forms of violence against children include 39 cases of physical violence, 23 cases of sexual abuse, 5 cases of emotional abuse, 5 cases of commercial exploitation, 5 cases of witness to domestic violence, 4 cases of child abandonment, 1 case of victims of cyber bullying and 1 case of commercial sexual exploitation.
Child rights violations
- A total of 3 cases of refusal of access to education were reported to and attended regarding child rights violations in December 2018.
Family issues
- A total of 50 cases were reported to and attended in this category in December 2018.
- Reports include 35 cases of custody or access, 11 cases of parenting issues and 3 cases of child maintenance.
Children in conflict with the law
- A total of 15 cases were reported to and attended regarding children in conflict with the law in December 2018.
- Reports include 5 cases of vandalism and damage to property, 2 cases of theft, 2 cases of drug use and 1 case of physical assault and aggression.
Behavioural problems of children
- A total of 10 cases were reported to and attended regarding behavioural problems of children in December 2018.
- Reports include 2 cases of refusal to attend school and 2 cases of running away.
Gender based violence and domestic violence
- A total of 45 cases involving gender based violence and domestic violence were reported to and attended in December 2018.
- The most frequently reported cases involve forms of physical abuse, of which 18 cases were reported during this period.
- Other cases reported in this category involve 11 cases of emotional or verbal abuse, 3 cases of sexual abuse, 3 cases of negligence, 3 cases of intimidation, 2 cases of rape, 2 cases of controlling behavior, 1 case of sexual harassment, 1 case of commercial exploitation and 1 case of stalking.
Care and support for elderly and persons with disabilities
- A total of 31 cases were reported to and attended in this category in December 2018.
- Reports include 19 cases regarding care and support to persons with disabilities and 12 cases related to care and support for elderly.
Suicidal behavior/ thoughts
- 5 cases regarding self-harm and suicidal behavior were reported to and attended in December 2018.
