Minister of Gender and Family H.E. Zenysha Shaheed Zaki took part in Ranveyla Campaign activities for senior citizens today, during her official visit to Alifu Dhaalu Atoll Mahibadhoo.
As part of health screening sessions organised in collaboration with Alifu Dhaalu Atoll Hospital, Minister Zenysha made home visits and met with bedridden senior citizens. She also met with the hospital management to discuss services provided to vulnerable groups in the island.
During the visit, Minister Zenysha held meetings with officials and members of Alifu Dhaalu Atoll Council, Mahibadhoo Island Council, and Alif Dhaalu Atoll Regional Command Police Station, and discussed collaborative efforts in providing services to children, elderly, and persons with disabilities.
Minister Zenysha also met with members of the Women’s Development Committee of Mahibadhoo, to gain a better understanding of their work and held discussions on future programmes and activities. She also met with staff of the Family and Children Service Centre (FCSC) in Mahibadhoo and discussed ways to strengthen social services provided by the Centre.
Minister Zenysha undertook the visit to Mahibadhoo to attend the closing ceremony of the “Professional Development Training on Service Provisions for the Elderly and Victims of Abuse” for health and social workers of Alifu Alifu and Alifu Dhaalu Atolls.
