Minister of Gender & Family H. E. Zenysha Shaheed Zaki has today visited the children’s shelter ‘Fiyavathi’, which was established in February 2016, to accommodate children below the age of 9 years. Minister Zenysha was also accompanied by the Minister of Islamic Affairs H. E. Dr. Ahmed Ziyad.
During the visit, Minister Zenysha met with the children and had discussions with the staff, to help improve the services provided at the shelter.
Since her recent appointment, Minister Zenysha has also visited the shelters Kudakudhinge Hiya & Aman Hiya, in Vilimale’ last week.
A total of 153 children are currently living under state care at Kudakudhinge Hiya, Aman Hiya and Fiyavathi Shelter. Kudakudhinge Hiya houses 51 children, Aman Hiya houses 17 children and Fiyavathi houses 85 children at present.
