Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services received and attended to a total of 222 cases in October 2021.
Violence against Children:
- A total of 95 cases were reported to and attended regarding violence against children in October
- The most frequently reported cases in this category involve cases of sexual abuse, of which 30 cases were reported during this period.
- Other forms of violence against children include 20 case of neglect, 16 case of witness to domestic violence, 12 cases of physical abuse, 10 cases of emotional abuse, 5 cases of victims of bullying & harassment and 02 cases of exploitation,.
Gender based violence and Domestic violence:
- A total of 45 cases involving gender-based violence and domestic violence were reported to and attended in October
- The most frequently reported cases involve 13 cases of physical violence / abuse.
- Other cases reported in this category involve 10 cases of emotional abuse/verbal abuse, 04 case of controlling behavior, 04 cases of intimidating, 04 cases of Neglect, 03 cases of sexual violence / abuse, 02 cases of sexual harassment, 02 case of withholding / damage to property, 02 case of rape and 01 case of economical & financial abuse.
Family Issues:
- A total of 24 cases were reported to and attended in this category in October
- Reports include 12 cases of parenting issues and 12 cases of custody or access.
Behavioral problems:
- A total of 20 cases were reported to and attended regarding behavioral problems in October
- Reports include 11 cases of temper tantrums, 04 cases of refusal to attend school, 03 cases of running away, 01 cases of perpetrators of cyber bullying, and 01 cases of others.
Care and support for elderly and persons with disabilities:
- A total of 15 cases were reported to and attended in this category in October
- Reports include 13 cases of care support for persons with disabilities and 2 cases of care and support to the elderly.
Children in conflict with law:
- A total of 11 case was reported to and attended in this category in October
- Reports include 07 cases of others and 05 case of stealing.
Self-harm and Suicidal behavior:
- 07 cases regarding self-harm and suicidal behavior were reported to and attended in October
- Report include 04 cases of suicidal behavior, 02 cases of self-harming, and 01 case of suicidal thoughts.
Child rights violations:
- A total of 04 cases were reported to and attended in this category in October
- Reports include 03 cases of refusal to send children to school, 01 case of refusal of access to health care / medical and 1 case of vaccinate children.
Children under State care, Fostered and Reintegrated:
- 05 children were taken to state care and 02 children were reintegrated with families.
- There are a total of 210 Children under State care as of October
