Minister of Gender & Family H.E. Zenysha Shaheed Zaki has participated in the Asia Pacific Ministerial Forum of the Management of Social Transformation held in Kuala Lumpur from 22 to 23 March 2017. The theme of the Forum is “Building Inclusive Societies in Asia Pacific” focusing on Ageing, Women and Social Innovation.
Minister Zenysha also participated in the roundtable panel discussion on responding to ageing to build an inclusive society and shared the Maldives experience to promote and protect the rights of senior citizens through ‘Ranveylaa’ campaign. Speaking at the panel, Minister Zenysha highlighted the important role that families and communities can play to ensure that senior citizens are not only protected from all forms of violence and neglect but also included in the decisions that affect them, as well as to foster an inclusive society.
The forum is hosted by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development Malaysia in collaboration with UNESCO to share knowledge, expertise and experience on developing and implementing innovative, evidence based, effective public policies.
