A special training programme, conducted by PERMATA Malaysia, to introduce an Early Childhood Education Programme in Fiyavathi Children’s Shelter has commenced today. A total of five staff, including teachers, will take part in this three-week training programme being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The training programme will focus on providing Early Childhood Education for children aged 2 to 5 years with the aim of preparing them for primary school. In addition, PERMATA Malaysia is also scheduled to visit Fiyavathi to monitor the implementation of the Early Childhood Education Programme and conduct further trainings for Fiyavathi staff.
The Ministry wishes to thank PERMATA Malaysia for providing this valuable opportunity to improve the capacity of Fiyavathi staff. The Ministry also hopes to expand collaboration with development partners both nationally and internationally, to provide children under state care with more opportunities for their development and wellbeing.
Fiyavathi is the second state care facility established in Hulhumale’ on 17 February 2016 and is currently home to 85 children below 10 years.
